Emotional abuse – destroying your possessions, hurting or
threatening the children, locking you in cupboards or under the stairs
or outside, making you afraid to sleep, ignoring, screaming or shouting
at you, criticising you in front of the children or other people, refusing
you access to your children, criticising you for everything you do or
say, forcing you to have an abortion, make you think you are fat, ugly,
stupid or an inadequate parent, perpetrator threatens to self harm or
commit suicide if you try to leave and denies any abuse has ever taken
place.
Financial abuse – Forcing you into debt, stealing money from you, deprived you of money, forcing you to beg for money, preventing you from working, forcing you to commit fraudulent acts, destroying your work, perpetrator refusing to work or contribute to the family welfare or spending all the money, forcing you to work for long hours.
Sexual abuse – Forcing you to have anal or oral sex, forcing you to perform sexual acts with others or animals, forcing you into prostitution, refusing contraception, raping you or forcing you to perform sexual acts in front of other people or the children, forcing you to watch or participate in pornographic acts, forcing you to have sex after being beaten, forcing you to watch the perpetrator having sexual intercourse with others, being penetrated with objects, depriving you of sex, forcing you into pregnancy, criticising you for your sexual performance, raping you.
Physical abuse – Burning, slapping, pushing, cutting, choking, strangling, biting, pull hair out, dragging you by you hair, breaking bones, scalding, stabbing, throwing, shaking, forcing you to self harm, holding you under water or drowning, jumping on you, poisoning, withholding your medication, forcing you to eat disgusting things, suffocating, banging your head against the floor or wall, running over you, urinating on you, assaulting you when pregnant, attempting to murder you.
