If you are able to, try and seek advice and information for your friend. We can help you with this. We will be happy to speak to them if they contact us first or if you are with them and they wish to speak with us. Whatever they talk about with us, we will not discuss it with you as all our support is confidential.

If you can offer support the following is a guide to what may be useful.

• Offer a safe place for them to stay if they need to leave quickly. Remember you both need to be safe
  
  
• Offer a safe place for them to keep documents, money, keys etc for their personal safety plan
  
  
• Have a code between you, so if they need help and cannot access it for themselves, you may be able to call for help
  
  
• Support and encourage your friend to seek help.
