Thinking about leaving

No matter how long you have been in an abusive relationship we recognise that deciding to leave can be a difficult decision and we can help you to arrange this.

Always remember, we will only work at the speed you set. No-one will force you to do anything that you are not ready or able to do. Your decision to leave might be when the relationship is over or it may be a temporary situation to escape a particular abusive event, or to take a break and give you some time to think.

Whatever your choice, it is desirable to take important things with you. You will need to prepare the things you want to take with you over time and keep everything in a safe place, or, with a friend or family member who you know you can trust.

Deciding to leave this will take very careful planning and we will help you with this. It is desirable to take important things with you. If you need to leave in a hurry we can help to arrange a Refuge for you and your children. Moving to a Refuge is not everyone’s chosen option and you may wish to consider alternative housing. Again we may be able to help you to find somewhere else to live.
